As you look out the window of your Lanzarote Hotels room and anticipate heading out on the town to sample the restaurants then engage in some spirited night life, this brief guide will help you pick your destination. First off the night life on Lanzarote is not nearly as boisterous as Tenerife or some of the Balearic Islands but it can sure hold it own with different levels of excitement and entertainment at various establishments.
The main resorts have plenty of sports bars. Plenty of live music and disco bars can be found in Puerto del Carmen, which has Lanzarote’s busiest nightlife, especially near the Harbor area known as the ‘Old Town’. In Playa Blanca, the Marina Rubicon offers some of the more sophisticated cocktail bars on the Island. In Costa Teguise, you’ll find most of the nightlife situated on and around the Avenida de Jabillo, where you’ll also come across a number of Irish Bars complete with food and drink direct from the Emerald Isle.
If you are looking for a taste of real Spanish nightlife not the watered down tourist version, then Arrecife is the place to go. Head out to Calle Jose Antonio or the Playa del Reducto to enjoy the atmosphere that native Lanzarotions do year around. And remember, that in Lanzarote, as in Spain as well, a ‘Night Club’ and a ‘Disco Bar’ are not the same thing. A ‘Night Club’ here is actually a Brothel!
